I tried the new Crackbird for a quick lunch today. My daughter and I are both on a wheat free fortnight so we discussed the choices with the waitress before sitting down. She recommended the soy chicken as being the best option for us. We decided to stay and eat and she showed us to a window table that offered a great view of the restaurants across the road, and we had a great view down Chatam Street. A great people spotting place. We ordered a half garlic soy chicken to share and a portion of slaw. I was very tempted by the rhubarb lemonade described on the menu but alas there was none available. So we settled for water.
The chicken was far superior this time. It was definitely more succulent and flavoursome than what we had in Crane Lane. The slaw was good but not as good as previously. The premises is much better, nice and bright and airy and in a much better location for night time visits. I’d recommend it, it was really tasty.
