Winter’s Bone

I liked this edgy movie although it didn’t make me feel ‘on edge’. The setting, the props and the camera angles gave an excellent impression of the hill billy backwater lifestyle. There was a real sense of how the characters lived in each other’s pockets. An underlying air of fear and violence permeated. I enjoyed the movie but I thought that Jennifer Lawrence (Ree) was a bit too healthy looking for the role she played.
